          - IFRS 13 Fair value measurements
  • Practical application issues including impairment testing – cash flow projections, borrowing costs, deferred taxes, business combinations.

MODULE 2: Financial Instruments and fair valuation
14 September 2011, 9am –12.30pm

  • Hot topics including treatment of convertible and hybrid instruments, modification and extinguishment arising from borrowings restructuring and FRS 107 Financial Instruments: Disclosure.
  • Overview including a status update of the changes to Financial Instruments standards (Classification and Measurement, Amortised cost and Impairment, Hedge accounting and Fair Value Measurement).
  • Implications of the wave of changes on data requirements, systems and models and processes and controls related to financial reporting.
