Focus areas and techniques

Our wide range of advanced analytical tools and techniques can provide innovative solutions and derive insight for our clients. Here are a few examples of where we have applied these approaches.

Cohort analysis

Use customer data to develop meaningful segmentation of the customers into cohorts based on their year of acquisition. We accurately tracked the customer behaviours of each cohort over time, in order to derive the organic growth and quantify the impact of a target's cross-sell and up-sell efforts.

Market basket analysis

Apply advanced analytics to analyse historical sales data and understand the products most commonly bought together at different retail stores and on the e-commerce site. Through the identified association rules, we helped our client to better identify opportunities for effectively setting up retail stores through optimised product placements, and in crafting targeted marketing messages and promotional campaigns with relevant product recommendations.

Geospatial insights

Harness the latest geospatial technology and data visualisation to bring new insights and perspectives from location-based data. We tested the intersection of a target's retail fuel network with the competitor networks to identify overlaps, and underpin our client's future expansion plans into addressable markets.

Scenario testing

Leveraged on data analytics tools (such as Alteryx and Tableau) to assess the integrity and completeness of granular transaction data, as part of the due diligence process. We helped our PE client gain comfort on the integrity of trades taking place on a target's cryptocurrency exchange platform, by performing a series of scenario tests to identify potential instances of unusual transaction patterns.

Market mix modelling

Apply advanced analytics to estimate the impact of various marketing tactics such as direct mail, billboards, radio, television advertising, digital ads and more on total sales. This will enable us to identify the most effective channel in driving sales. The existing budget allocation on these marketing channels can then be optimised to allocate more budget to more effective channels thereby improving return on investment.

Customer profile and lifetime value

Leverage RFM framework to understand the purchase behavior of different customers. Further estimate the churn probability and lifetime value to segment customers into groups such as loyal, needing attention and promising traits. The segments help us tailor the marketing/promotions efforts for each customer.
