Getting Fit for the Future Forum

75 delegates representing 35 companies gathered on 28 November 2017 to be part of our ‘Getting Fit for the Future’ event, where we engaged in conversations on:

  • how to level up to be fit for the future,
  • the happy marriage between tax and technology, and
  • with our special guest, PwC US Inbound Tax leader, Christopher Kong on the US Tax Reform.

The earlier conversations were led by our Global Tax Reporting and Strategy Leader, Mark Schofield (PwC UK), Robotics and Process Automation champion, Kerstine Rencourt (PwC UK), Tax Reporting and Operations lead for the Asia Pacific, Brendan Egan (PwC Singapore) together with Pauline Lum, Tax Reporting and Strategy Leader (PwC Malaysia),  and Tax Technology Leader, Yap Sau Shiung (PwC Malaysia).

Change is happening and companies need to act now to deal with tomorrow’s tax challenges. Key takeaways from our conversations include:

  • Having to assess the current tax function to determine whether it is fit for the future and to develop a roadmap to reach the desired end state
  • Harnessing enablers such as technology to improve efficiencies which then free up time to focus on partnering the business
  • Ensuring that Tax frameworks are robust to manage risk in the ever changing global landscape

For more on key takeaways, hear from our participants in the post event video.
