The National Committee on Corporate Governance (NCCG) formally launched the Corporate Governance Scorecard for Mauritius (2021) on 28 October 2021. The Scorecard comes four years after the reporting commencement date of the National Code of Corporate Governance for Mauritius (2016). The Code is principle based which means that the eight principles of the Code should be applied by the business community (with disclosure of any exceptions) with explanations and disclosures to explain how the Code has been applied. The Scorecard is not intended to replace the Code but to reinforce it and provide clarity on how to operationalise it.
