PwC Code of Duty

Rise to the challenge and code for a better tomorrow.

The inaugural PwC Code of Duty was a Hackathon event where next-gen programmers tested their skills against the very best in Mauritius. 

The event was open to all students, irrespective of year of study. Teams used imaginative thinking to present AI-powered solutions aimed at tackling issues in the corporate world!

The winners were announced on the 27 October 2023. We were thrilled with the positive response we had, and thank all the teams for their participation.

The winners are:

First Prize

The 404 team consisting of Yusra Patel , Chetan Aubeeluck , Jedidah Ellayah, Koshik Seeburun and Yuddhish Chooah.

Second Prize

The Algo X team consisting of Khilesh Chumbit, Doorgesh Neetye, Sidick Muhammad Talal and Jaynesh Kumar Beeharry 

Third Prize

The Jury voted for 2 teams as co-winners of the Third Prize.

The Test Dimain team consisting of Raj Seetohul, Rabill Madarboccus, Kavish Mojhoa, Pravesh Gowreea and Joshan Surujbhali; and

The NullPointerException team consisting of Bhavish Seetul, Reuben Rungasamy, Dishti Shamloll , Willyard Jeanneton and Thahil Purgas.

Vikas, is a Partner in PwC Mauritius Advisory and leads our Digital and Cybersecurity practice.

ichael is a licensed auditor practising in the Assurance Line of Service in PwC Mauritius

Goolnarr is an Associate Director with more than 16 years of experience leading the software development team in PwC Mauritius.

A 24h coding challenge!

Over a span of 24 hours, the teams had the chance to showcase their technical prowess while addressing authentic corporate hurdles.

What was expected?

The team of no more than 5 pariticipants joined the tech-enabled and immersive PwC Centre on a morning and presented a real-case study. The team needed to apply design principles and follow a well-thought methodology, to develop a great solution using coding. In a concluding presentation on the following day, they had a chance to WOW the judges. 

Some of the AI solutions were developed around the following themes:

  • Anti Money Laundering
  • Career Development
  • Workforce Management

Battlefield: PwC Centre, Telfair, Moka

Timing of hostilities: 8am on 26 October - 5pm on 27 October 2023

Supplies provided: Food, Drinks, Cool down zones, etc.

Team size: 3 to 5 members

Badges required:

  • You can be an HSC student bearing a Mauritian nationality; or
  • You can be a student enrolled in an undergraduate programme of any nationality studying in any university incorporated in Mauritius; or
  • You can be a Mauritian citizen studying in a university abroad and enrolled in an undergraduate programme.
