Junaid Khan is a Partner within PwC’s Actuarial Risk & Quants practice, having lead a number of insurance advisory and assurance engagements within the South African market, Rest of Africa Middle East as well as across the globe. In his time at PwC, Junaid has developed a wide range of experience including in reserving and capital management, enterprise risk management, actuarial valuations, capital modelling, model validation, due diligence, SAM and IFRS17.
Over the last 2 years he has been involved in various IFRS 17 implementation initiatives in the South African industry such as performing detailed gap analyses, testing PAA eligibility, developing an end-to-end pilot implementation assessment for a large short-term insurer, assisting clients with policy and methodology discussions/decisions/papers, etc.
Junaid actively participates in industry groups both locally and globally, such as the FSM SAM Committees and the International Actuarial Association (IAA) Non-Life Insurance Reserving Working Party – Junaid was selected as the South African representative on this IAA working party. He is also a member of various PwC internal IFRS17 working groups locally and globally.
