PricewaterhouseCoopers Aarata LLC (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Takaaki Ino, hereinafter ‘PwC Aarata’) today announced ‘Assurance Vision 2023 - Building trust for the future of Japan, the firm’s medium-term management vision for 2030. To realise PwC’s Purpose, ‘to build trust in society and solve important problems’, and to continue to be a firm that is needed by society in every era, this management vision provides an overview of the environment in which we expect to be operating in 2030, and lays out our future vision for the firm.

PwC Aarata was established in 2006 under the slogan ‘A new wind blowing through the audit field in Japan’. In 2018, we created and published ‘Vision 2025: To become the leading firm to build trust in a digital society’*1, and we have since made progress toward building the trust and delivering the solutions that today’s digital society needs. Five years have passed since the formulation of Vision 2025, and the increased social uncertainty and fragmentation we have experienced during that time led to our decision to define the presence we aim to have in society in 2030.
In formulating Assurance Vision 2030, partners and directors representing younger generations and various fields of practice drew up drafts, which were refined through discussions with our executives. The future scenarios for our society in 2030 which served as the premise for this vision were created by a team of junior employees of PwC Aarata and published in 2022*2.

The main theme of Assurance Vision 2030 is the realisation of ‘integrated assurance’ to close the various trust gaps that are likely to exist in our society in 2030.
“Integrated assurance” refers to becoming a firm that bridges the boundaries of our audit and broader assurance service*3 organisations, connects the knowledge and experience of each of our professionals and answers the call to fill a wide range of trust gaps in society.
*3 Broader assurance services: A wide range of assurance services provided by PwC Aarata related to non-financial information, including assurance and advisory services services that require knowledge of accounting, internal controls, business processes, systems, data analysis, risk management, governance, compliance and more
We have established Assurance Vision 2030 with the goal of delivering a better society to future generations, and will continue to take on the challenge of building a society brimming with greater trust.
