Jun Suzuki is a partner responsible for the development and execution of domestic and cross-borderM&A transactions. Prior to joining PwC Advisory LLC, he spent about 9 years in private equity investments at Intermediate Capital Group (ICG), The Longreach Group, and GE Capital. At ICG, he was the Japan Representative. Prior to 2014, he spent 14 years in investment banking, 11 of which were with the investment banking division of UBS, where he led a number of cross-border M&A transactions, origination and execution of equity and debt financing, and development and support of financial and investor relations strategies for blue-chip clients in Japan. He joined (former) The Long-Term Credit Bank of Japan in 1991.
Graduated from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (MBA) and Waseda University (BA in Political Science and Economics).
Major transactions
- Financial advisor to a global franchisor in the acquisition of a major global restaurant brand chain by a foreign PE fund.
- Executed the buyout of a bridal jewellery retail chain and led post-merger integration (PMI) as an investment principal at The Longreach Group.
- Originated and executed the buyout of a fast-food chain carved-out from a major food and beverage company as a lead investment principal at The Longreach Group, and led the PMI.
- Seller's advisor to a global PE fund on the sale of a domestic healthcare products company.
- Advisor on financing and capital strategy, including strategic measures to deal with shareholders, of a major domestic cosmetics and health food company.
- Buyer's advisor on the acquisition of a Brazilian alcoholic beverage company by a leading domestic beverage company.
- Seller's advisor on the acquisition of an Australian beverage company by a major domestic beverage company, and the acquisition of a New Zealand-based alcoholic beverage company.
- Advised a major domestic human resources company in selling its shares to a strategic partner and a sponsor.
- Advised a major domestic advertising agency on capital strategy, pre-emptive measures against shareholder actions, and takeover defence.
- Managed the global IPO of the IT subsidiary of a major domestic steel company as a lead manager/bookrunner in charge.
- Managed the global IPO of Japan’s largest advertising agency as a lead manager/bookrunner. Assisted in the planning, development and execution of financial and M&A strategies, including post-IPO hostile takeover defence measures.
