After working for a Japanese bank, Katsunobu Kitamura joined PwC Tax Japan in 2012 and now has more than 10 years’ experience providing tax compliance and advisory services, such as tax advice on structuring cross-border investments, mainly to financial institutions and J-REITs (Japanese real estate investment trusts). He also has extensive experience in providing tax advice to financial institutions on restructuring and M&A.
From 2017 to 2019, Katsunobu experienced a two-year secondment to Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) as Deputy Director. At the FSA, he was involved in tax reform with regards to corporate and international taxation related to financial institutions and financial transactions.
Since 2022, Katsunobu has been on secondment to PwC Singapore, where he engages in providing tax services to Japanese companies in Singapore, collaborating with PwC member firms in the ASEAN countries and Oceania.
