Technical update for Non-Executive Directors and Audit Committee members - Jersey

We were delighted to host our Channel Islands event for Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) on 17 January 2024. The event is our flagship PwC technical update for NEDs looking to keep up-to-date on the latest hot topics in corporate reporting before the 2023/ 2024 financial reporting season kicks off, including focused, tailored sessions held by subject matter experts from PwC UK. It also was an excellent opportunity to network and collaborate with other members of the NED community.

Overview agenda

This session examined the implications of the most significant recent developments in governance, corporate reporting and technical accounting, including in relation to ESG and climate change, as well as other topics relevant to the audit committee agenda:

Inflation and uncertainty - impact on financial reporting.
Update on the latest IFRS developments.
FRC and FCA developments and areas of focus.
Feedback from the latest PwC reviews of FTSE 350 reporting.
Climate change reporting and wider ESG reporting developments.
Update on UK regulatory reform.

The update was of particular interest to Audit Committee members as well as other NEDs wishing to further develop their understanding of accounting and corporate governance developments in the UK.

IFRS specialist

Arran has served as an IFRS technical expert based in London since 2013, as part of the UK Corporate Reporting Services' Financial Instruments Topic Team. He's a member of PwC’s Global Asset Management working group, a group of IFRS experts and engagement partners that deal with the IFRS issues facing the industry.

Jenny Bain

IFRS specialist

Jenny is a Senior Manager in PwC UK's Corporate Reporting Services Financial Instruments Topic Team, specialising in accounting matters in the Asset and Wealth Management sector. She is also a member of PwC’s Global Asset Management working group.
