Issue #3

Women@PwC

I am always curious to find out about my lovely colleagues' lives and more wonderful places/culture to explore in Vietnam. I came to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City first, and after trying banh mi, bun cha and cafe, I was happy to move here to work.

Describe yourself in two words?

Curious and Passionate

I would like to take this chance to welcome you to share with me your hobbies and interesting places in Vietnam😊. I am always curious to find out about my lovely colleagues' lives and more wonderful places/culture to explore in Vietnam.

You frequently come to the office with positive energy and vibes. Where is your go-to place to lift your health and mood?

I realize that sometimes "under performance" at work is because of tiredness or not being in good health, so keeping physically strong and healthy is very important to make sure we are strong enough to face challenges at work. I go to a fitness center close to my home 2-3 times a week; it is important to explore facilities close to your house, so that there is no excuse to quit. I went to my favourite massage place every weekend. A wonderful weekend includes a good massage and good sleep. And I sometimes go golfing with friends, which allows me to socialise and enjoy being outdoors.

#InclusionMatters

You'll be receiving a 5-year service award from PwC Vietnam in 2024. What do you love most about PwC? Any experiences that made you feel included and at home during your five years abroad?

The inclusive corporate culture and kind colleagues, and the clear and consistent standard in client works. Thank you all. I am thankful to my coach and all my fellow colleagues for always opening the door for discussion, no matter if it is work related or not. The team always try to help us understand Vietnamese and provide us with opportunities to experience fantastic Vietnamese food and culture such us on our trips and at official and unofficial gatherings.

Do you have any advice for colleagues who want to gain more international exposure or work on cross-country projects?

Go there for a trip first. I came to Hanoi and HCMC first, and after trying banh mi, bun cha and cafe, I was happy to move here to work ;) Additionally, I think it is great if we are willing to learn the local language; it is difficult to "translate" culture, and many aspects of culture are embedded in the language.

Thank you so much, JingJing, for sharing this with us!
