Background:

Weeraphat is a Tax Director in the general tax group of PwC. His main practice area is taxation in relation to the financial services industry.

Weeraphat has been assisting a number of multinational companies in various industries, including banking and insurance, leasing, consumer and industrial products and services. He also has extensive experience in tax compliance reviews, tax return reviews, tax due diligence and tax restructuring assignments for both financial and non-financial service clients.

Areas of expertise:

• Provided an ongoing tax advisory services to the top Thai financial institutions,
• Provided tax advice for business acquisition/restructuring and post-deal integration for various deals in Thailand,
• Experienced in tax due diligence and M&A transactions in the acquisition of financial institutions in Thailand, and
• Assisted in reviewing the tax compliance review of both financial and non-financial service clients.

Relevant Qualification: 

• Weeraphat is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• Weeraphat graduated from Thammasat University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, majoring in accounting (Second Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Law degree (Second Class Honours).
• Besides, he was a speaker on tax issues associated with the new accounting standards at public seminars arranged by the Federation of Accounting Professions and the Thai Life Assurance Association.

• Advised on the feasibility study of setting up the treasury center in Thailand and APAC
• Assisted on financial service transfer pricing (FSTP) in relation to interest rate pricing and conducting loan benchmarking study
• Provided tax advisory on alternatives for capital structuring.
