Watch the Care in Action video

We have been bringing out our employees from April to May to make a difference in the community through collective action together with SG Cares Office and its islandwide network of Volunteer Centres.

Wellness

The wellbeing of our people is paramount to us. We believe that our people must be well physically, mentally and in all other aspects in order to bring their best selves to work. It is therefore important that we are driven by a holistic wellbeing approach focusing on these five pillars: emotional-mental, social, physical, financial and environmental.

Our range of wellness initiatives are centred on providing greater access to wellbeing-related support and resources for our people, so that they can be empowered to take charge of their personal and professional wellbeing with confidence.

Wellness workshops: ABCs of wellness

In 2023, we kickstarted our inaugural series of monthly wellness workshops, we called it the ABCs of wellness, designed to introduce key dimensions of wellbeing to our people through creative and experiential formats. From art therapy to piloxing and learning how to manage emotions, our workshops provide mindful breaks to our people to hit pause, refresh and reset.

Inclusion and diversity

We are at our best when we bring together diverse experiences and perspectives. To leverage the benefits of our diverse community of solvers, we embrace and encourage differences and help our people actively develop the skills to work and lead inclusively.

The PwC Singapore Foundation

Established in 2019, the PwC Singapore Foundation aims to strengthen its community contributions through the causes it supports - education, disability and elderly inclusion.

Volunteering initiatives

We make valuable contributions to the community through some of our campaigns and initiatives named below. The programmes highlighted below are our key volunteering initiatives.

Care in action

From April to May 2024, we have been mobilising our diverse workforce through the Care in Action firmwide community project to deliver sustained impact in marginalised communities.

Care in Action is our inaugural firmwide community project to commemorate a multi-year collaboration between The PwC Singapore Foundation, SG Cares Office and its islandwide network of Volunteer Centres. In support of our inclusion agenda, these volunteer centres comprise of various social service agencies like SUN-DAC, AWWA, NTUC Health and more that serve the elderly, persons with disabilities and other communities.

From Woodlands to Jurong, we aim to make a direct impact on the quality of life of the elderly and persons with disabilities. We look forward to come together as one firm in our flagship event to impact over 400 lives through collective action.

General volunteering

We partner with social service agencies such as Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS), Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) of Singapore and SUN-DAC to drive inclusion of persons with disabilities in our society. Our volunteers befriend and go on weekly activities with some beneficiaries of these social organisations.

Since November 2022, we have collaborated with YMCA of Singapore to befriend and guide individuals with special needs through various programmes like their weekly nature hikes and art challenge workshops. In total, over 100 of our people have participated in 50 sessions (and counting), and bridged meaningful connections with new friends across diverse abilities.

Skills-based volunteering that enables digital upskilling

One of the biggest barriers to inclusivity is the digital divide. Responding to this, our New world. New skills. initiative aims to bridge this skills gap and enable a future-ready workforce.

In 2022, we collaborated with Highpoint Community Services Association (HCSA) where our people contributed a total of 150 hours over a period of six months in developing custom content for and providing digital upskilling to ex-offenders. Monthly workshops were organised to cover various digital topics. This bespoke programme has since upskilled over 30 elderly ex-offenders and has enabled HCSA Highpoint to receive external investment to build an IT lab to further their social cause.

Providing career mentorship to the next generation of talent

In 2022 followed by 2023, we engaged over 50 tertiary students from underserved communities through Singapore Indian Development Association’s (SINDA) signature mentorship programme. These students are recipients of SINDA’s bursary award with ambitions to venture into various business fields. Over the course of four months, our people supported their growth through structured mentoring sessions that explored various personal and professional competencies to prepare them for the job market.
