On Thursday, 5 September, we are delighted to host a lunch briefing in Guernsey with Lord Gavin Barwell, former Chief of Staff at Number 10 Downing Street. Lord Barwell will share his reflections on the recent UK general election, and the potential impact on businesses and the local economy in Guernsey.

Gavin acts as a Senior Adviser to PwC on UK politics and geopolitics, having served as Downing Street Chief of Staff during the final two years of Theresa May's premiership, a period marked by significant political turbulence. His political career includes roles such as Chief Operating Officer of the Conservative Party, MP for Central Croydon, senior government whip, Minister of Housing, and Minister for London. These positions have provided him with a comprehensive understanding of British politics, from party headquarters to marginal seat campaigning, parliamentary operations, and central government functions.

Gavin offers pertinent analysis of UK politics and geopolitics, addressing key trends and significant events. He delivers unique and highly relevant insights into political risks and opportunities that boards and C-suite executives should consider, including sector-specific challenges and opportunities.
