Important changes concerning Intrastat declarations due in February

Tax & Legal Alert | 7 February 2019

In connection with Intrastat declarations to be submitted on 15 February 2019, please note that the Intrastat E-star system was discontinued as of January 2019. Accordingly, Intrastat declarations for January 2019 can only be submitted through the KSH-ELEKTRA system.

In addition, the scope of mandatory data elements in Intrastat declarations has changed and, most importantly, the data files to be uploaded into the new system by 15 February will need to have a different format and structure than those used previously. Instead of CSV and XLS (Excel) files, only XML files or structurally modified CSV files can be uploaded into the KSH-ELEKTRA system, meaning that XLS (Excel) files will no longer be suitable for this purpose.
