Meet our Advisory team

Advisory services include management consulting, financial transaction services, and technology consulting.

What does it mean to be a business advisor?

In addition to providing industry-specific guidance, we also help clients with critical business issues, such as innovative corporate activities, sector- and function-specific solutions, strategy development, improving operational effectiveness, organisational development, and IT solutions, and offer financial modelling, corporate valuation and financing advisory services. We also prepare studies and analyses on current trends.

According to our colleagues…

„...I have had the opportunity over the past year to support a non-profit organisation as a mentor for several months..."

“As a consultant at PwC, I find it highly motivating that in addition to my everyday work I can deal with social and environmental issues that are important to me.

As part of PwC’s Civil Mentoring Programme, I have had the opportunity over the past year to support a non-profit organisation as a mentor for several months. As a result, we won the Köz-Pont Youth Organisation’s Partner of the Year award last year.

In addition, four of my colleagues and I prepared a report in which we explored the opportunities the circular economy has to offer for businesses, including the tools large companies around the world use to reduce waste. We hope that our report will inspire others.”

„...I applied to PwC’s Consulting Challenge competition because I was very pleased with the image that this company projected..."

“When I was at university, I was constantly looking for new challenges – study abroad programmes, sports competitions, study groups, etc. I applied to PwC’s Consulting Challenge competition because I was very pleased with the image that this company projected. This was the first such competition I had ever entered, so I went about it calmly, without much preparation, not thinking I would win, but I was still hopeful. It was very nice to present my proposed solutions to an audience some of whom would later become my colleagues, and have a professional discussion on the subject. Much to my surprise, the following day I was invited by phone for an interview, and that’s how my career in consulting began. I’m happy to say that my job continues to be more and more challenging.”

„...flexible working hours give me the opportunity to train before, during or after work, and my colleagues also motivate me because we do a lot of training and competition together..."

“Physical activity has been a big part of my life since I was a kid. Since I was five years old, I have played competitive sports, including basketball, tennis, volleyball, and gymnastics. Alongside work, I prefer triathlon now, and I constantly prepare for competitions.

Flexible working hours give me the opportunity to train before, during or after work, and my colleagues also motivate me because we do a lot of training and competition together. A good example is the PwC running team, with whom we participate every year in the Ultrabalaton competition. In 2018 we finished second among corporate teams. With one of my colleagues we entered the Keszthely Half Ironman race together. However, we are also interested in less competitive sports; for example, we completed a sailing course on Lake Balaton last spring, and we have also gone skiing together in February for the past three years.”

Tips to help you prepare for the job interview

Be courteous.

  • Arrive on time.
  • Don’t get too chummy with the interviewer.
  • Don’t forget to say hello and goodbye.

Mind your appearance and behaviour.

  • Your handshake should be firm but not too strong.
  • Avoid excessive gesturing.
  • Keep eye contact with the interviewer.
  • Be confident, but don’t overdo it.
  • Make sure you look neat and tidy, without going over the top.

Get prepared about PwC! You will find answers to the following questions from our corporate website:

  • What is the scope of our activity?
  • Who are our main competitors?
  • In what markets do we operate?
  • It is also worth reading articles and media reports.

Prepare for questions!

  • Questions may be open-ended, such as when you are asked to tell a story. For example:
    • Tell me about a case when you had to solve a difficult problem.
    • What is your dream job?
    • What do you think makes you a good fit for this position?
  • Questions can also be aimed at finding out about factual details.
  • Know what’s in your CV, be ready to talk about your studies, and your work-related tasks.
  • Keep your answers short and to the point, as the interviewer’s time is limited.
  • Don’t be surprised at unexpected questions. If you need more time to consider your answer, feel free to say so.

Don’t be shy to ask questions!

  • If you have any questions about the company’s activities, job requirements or working conditions, don’t hesitate to ask.
  • You can also ask about further steps in the selection process.
