LIBOR and reference rate reform countdown: Will you be ready?

A tremendous shift across financial markets is taking place now that the London Interbank Offered Rate (LIBOR) is being replaced. To manage the transition, many banks across the region have issued new products referenced to the new rates for their specific countries. Closer to home, the Bank of Thailand has established the Steering Committee on Commercial Banks' Preparedness for LIBOR Discontinuation. The Committee has proposed that the Thai Overnight Repurchase Rate (THOR) replaces the current reference rate – THBFIX – which is still popularly used. Given the extent of the impact, planning for this transition must start now and begin with a comprehensive strategy.

This webinar will give you insight into how you can develop strategies to prepare for this wave of reference rate reform and will cover:

  • the global transition programme and updated timeline
  • the involvement of overseas regulators
  • overseas banks’ transition progress
  • the impact of the LIBOR transition in Thailand
  • what makes the transition away from LIBOR so challenging
  • what organisations must do.
