Delivering sustained positive impact to our people and communities

Social impact

Social impact

Social impact is the cornerstone of our corporate responsibility strategy. We believe in empowering our people by building a trusted space for them to thrive in, and the community through our valued community contributions.

Wellness

The wellbeing of our people is paramount to us. We believe that our people must be well physically, mentally and in all other aspects in order to bring their best selves to work. It is therefore important that we are driven by a holistic wellbeing approach focusing on these five pillars: emotional-mental, social, physical, financial and environmental.

Our range of wellness initiatives are centred on providing greater access to wellbeing-related support and resources for our people, so that they can be empowered to take charge of their personal and professional wellbeing with confidence.

Wellness workshops: ABCs of wellness

In 2023, we kickstarted our inaugural series of monthly wellness workshops, we called it the ABCs of wellness, designed to introduce key dimensions of wellbeing to our people through creative and experiential formats. From art therapy to piloxing and learning how to manage emotions, our workshops provide mindful breaks to our people to hit pause, refresh and reset.

Inclusion and diversity

We are at our best when we bring together diverse experiences and perspectives. To leverage the benefits of our diverse community of solvers, we embrace and encourage differences and help our people actively develop the skills to work and lead inclusively.

The PwC Singapore Foundation

Established in 2019, the PwC Singapore Foundation aims to strengthen its community contributions through the causes it supports - education, disability and elderly inclusion.

The PwC Singapore Foundation makes holistic contributions to the community, including general and skills-based volunteering, financial donations and in-kind donations. Our commitment on capacity development and upskilling, is also demonstrated through our global ambitions.

Volunteering initiatives

We make valuable contributions to the community through some of our campaigns and initiatives named below. The programmes highlighted below are our key volunteering initiatives.

Our signature community initiative, Care in Action, returns for its 3rd season in April – June 2026, to uplift senior wellbeing through adaptive sports.

Care in Action is a multi-year collaboration between The PwC Singapore Foundation, SG Cares Office and its islandwide network of SG Cares Volunteer Centres to deliver sustained impact in less-privileged communities.

Last year, 660 volunteers engaged in befriending activities to uplift the social inclusion and wellbeing of over 740 elderly and persons with disabilities.

There are few things as valuable as spending quality time with those who matter. This #SG60, our volunteers showed care for our community by spending meaningful time and building genuine connections with our beneficiaries.

General volunteering

We partner with social service agencies such as Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS), Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) of Singapore and SUN-DAC to drive inclusion of persons with disabilities in our society. Our volunteers befriend and go on weekly activities with some beneficiaries of these social organisations.

Since November 2022, we have collaborated with YMCA of Singapore to befriend and guide individuals with special needs through various programmes like their weekly nature hikes and art challenge workshops. In total, over 400 of our people have bridged meaningful connections with new friends across diverse abilities.

Upskilling the social sector via skills-based volunteering

We are proud to be a dedicated supporter of the Singapore Red Cross (SRC), and our commitment has been demonstrated through the exceptional contributions of our people. During the COVID-19 pandemic, our experts volunteered their time and skills to develop a workflow that continues to enhance the management of Red Cross data. This automation reduces human error, ensures data accuracy, and provides transparency through visual and documented process flows. To learn more, visit this page.

As part of our foundation’s commitment to upskilling, we have focused on building SRC’s organisational capability. In 2023, we hosted two specialised workshops for Red Cross volunteers and staff, focusing on crucial topics such as Data Collection and Survey Design and Personal Data Protection. To further ensure sustainability, we conducted a “train-the-trainer” session in 2024 to empower Red Cross staff with the skills needed to train new volunteers and staff effectively.

Beyond these initiatives, we also support the Red Cross in promoting blood donation drives and other essential initiatives. Our ongoing collaboration reflects our commitment to strengthening trust and resilience within social organisations and creating a sustainable impact. In recognition of our contributions, we are honoured to receive the “Friend of Singapore Red Cross” award in 2024.

Providing career mentorship to the next generation of talent

In 2022-2024, we engaged tertiary students from underserved communities through Singapore Indian Development Association’s (SINDA) signature mentorship programme. These students are recipients of SINDA’s bursary award with ambitions to venture into various business fields. Our people supported their growth through structured mentoring sessions that explored various personal and professional competencies to prepare them for the job market.
