PwC favours hockey training robotics developer Winmill in TechChill Pitch Battle

14/02/18

At TechChill 2018, a leading Baltic technology, startup and inspiration event held last week, PwC awarded year-long business mentoring to Winmill, a company developing robotic solutions for ice hockey training that allow players to practice everywhere.

Winmill ice hockey training equipment helps players of various levels and positions improve their skills by providing video and statistics feedback about their performance and necessary improvements.

Raimonds Dauksts, director of PwC Deals & Corporate Finance and a member of the jury, praised Winmill’s innovative approach to training: “Using technology to improve people’s skills has a great future. I’m sure this company is well on its way to a major success. We know that the Winmill brand training equipment has already attracted the attention of many major ice hockey teams, and we hope that our support will help the company grow still faster.”

PwC offers business mentoring to Winmill from 10 February 2018 to 9 February 2019.

It has been reported earlier that a TechChill conference was held at VEF Culture Palace on 8–9 February and attended by hundreds of technology professionals from around the world. The two days saw close to 100 technology experts inspiring, debating and sharing their expertise on three parallel stages. This year’s conference was also supported by PwC because we believe that innovation and daring form the basis for future business growth.

About Winmill

Winmill is developing ice hockey training equipment capable of shooting and passing pucks like a personalised coach to a player of any skill level and position. The device uses stereovision cameras for tracking the player’s position and movement during practice and carries out passes and shots precisely when and where they are necessary. The device also provides video and statistics feedback about the player’s performance that can be combined with other sources of information from training to serve as an assistant coach to everyone who wants to improve their skills.
