Janis is an Attorney-at-law at PwC Legal, who mainly specialises in mergers and acquisitions, corporate law as well as banking and finance.
Janis leads the Corporate and M&A practice group of PwC Legal.
Janis has taken part in many of the largest mergers and acquisitions completed in the Baltics in recent years. He has also taken part in several reorganisation and restructuring projects, including company transformations, business transfers, and asset disposals. Janis has in-depth knowledge of banking and finance law, in particular matters related to financial instrument markets and investment funds. He has also taken part in many financing and refinancing transactions.
Before joining PwC Legal, Janis worked for a major Baltic law firm, as well as gaining practical experience in the Supreme Court of Latvia and in the Constitutional Court of Latvia.
Janis holds a professional master’s degree from the University of Latvia, Faculty of Law and an LL.M. in Law and Finance from the Riga Graduate School of Law.
Janis is a member of the Latvian Collegium of Sworn Advocates.
