Singapore, Southeast Asia and Hong Kong capital markets annual outlook

Jin Hoe joined SGX Group on 1 June 2022 as Executive Director in the Global Sales & Origination team. He was appointed Head, Capital Markets on 1 September 2023 and he is responsible for IPO and DCM origination as well as business and relationship management with senior clients.

Prior to joining SGX Group, Jin Hoe has spent 24 years in various senior roles in Singapore Public Service. He was last serving as Senior Vice President and Head, Asia Pacific and Greater China of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). In that role, he was responsible for formulating policies, developing strategies and executing the operational plans to attract Asian conglomerates and Asian enterprises to Singapore.

Chyan Pit is a Managing Director within DBS Capital Markets Department. He first joined DBS in 1995. During his more than 25 years of corporate finance and investment banking experience with the Bank, he was responsible for the successful completion of numerous corporate finance and capital market transactions for regional and multinational companies, real estate investment trusts and business trusts. These transactions include different types of equity fund raising exercises such as initial public offerings (“IPOs”), rights issues and private placements. Chyan Pit played an instrumental role in many of the landmark transactions in Singapore, including the IPOs of GHY Culture & Media, Sasseur REIT, Hutchison Port Holdings Trust, IHH Healthcare, Global Logistic Properties and CapitaMalls Asia. Prior to joining DBS, he was with the Monetary Authority of Singapore for 5 years, during which he was serving in different functions including supervision and inspection of financial institutions, internal audit and management of international reserves. Chyan Pit has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Microbiology and a Master of Business Administration degree from the National University of Singapore. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst from the CFA Institute in USA.

Eng Beng is the Assurance Leader at PwC Singapore with over 30 years of experience in public accounting. He is part of the PwC Global Assurance Leadership team and of the Leadership team in PwC Singapore. Prior to this role, he was the Risk and Quality Leader in PwC Singapore.

Eng Beng has worked with clients from across different countries and scales. He is well versed in dealing with multi-location audits and the differences in culture in each location.

Tuck Seng is the Head of Capital Market Services Group and he has close to 30 years of professional experience in external and internal audits, as well as accounting consulting services.

Tuck Seng specializes in the listing of companies in Singapore and Hong Kong as well as audits of companies with significant overseas operations. He was involved as the reporting auditor for the initial public offerings of more than 25 companies over the last 15 years. Some of these companies have significant overseas operations in PRC, Hong Kong, Netherlands, USA, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Jimmy is a Capital Markets Partner within PwC Singapore Assurance practice. He has over 13 years of professional experience with the firm, and he specializes in the audit of Singapore listed companies and companies planning for IPO. His experience includes working on IPO related projects across different countries such as Hong Kong, the United States, Malaysia and Norway. Jimmy is also experienced in consulting clients preparing their organization for a capital markets transaction.

Geoffrey is a Capital Markets Director in PwC Hong Kong with 12 years of experience with the firm in IPO and capital markets related business development activities in the Asia Pacific Region and cross-border listing activities under the PwC Global IPO Centre. He has extensive networks with the exchanges, securities regulators, issuers, bankers and lawyers within the Asia Pacific Region.

Previous to this role, he was an executive with the Hong Kong Exchange in 2000-2010 serving in various roles including listing promotion, China affairs and corporate governance executive training. While as Senior Manager of Issuer Marketing, he has supported the Chairman, Chief Executive and senior management of HKEx in driving listing promotion initiatives and travelled to over 20 Mainland China cities and over 25 countries including Australia, Canada, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Russia, South Korea, Thailand, Ukraine and US to promote listing in Hong Kong.

Irwan is the lead partner of Capital Market and Accounting Advisory Service (CMAAS) in PwC Indonesia with more than 17 years' experience in assurance and non-assurance services. He provides accounting consultation for businesses with complex transactions, business restructuring, giving accounting training internally and externally, assisting clients on transactions related to the Capital Market, US/SEC securities filings, compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and IFRS/PSAK conversion. Irwan has extensive work experience with clients in various fields of industry including oil and gas, energy (electricity), manufacturing, telecommunication and others.

Pongthavee is a Partner within the Assurance practice in PwC Thailand with 22 years of experience within the firm. He leads PwC Thailand broader assurance services group providing a wide range of services including accounting advice, process improvement and capital market related services. Pongthavee has also worked for other PwC offices in the United Stated including Houston, Dallas, and Detroit where he assisted clients in the preparation of narrative GAAP differences and quantification of the financial impact of GAAP differences between local GAAP and U.S. GAAP/IFRS. Pongthavee has served large multinational clients by assisting them in resolving complex accounting and financial reporting issues. His areas of expertise include preparing companies for an initial public offering (IPO) through improvements in their financial reporting, corporate governance, and internal control system.

Edmund is a Capital Markets Director within PwC Malaysia Assurance practice. He specializes in local and regional capital market transactions such as Bursa Malaysia and Hong Kong stock exchange, cross border debt offerings including Regs S and 144A transactions, rights issues and various other major merger and acquisition transactions.
