Recognition Day 2024
Our Recognition Day award ceremony celebrated the outstanding individuals in our midst who made an impact and delivered success in what they do.

Inclusive seniors and leaders who welcomed new-joiners with warmth and a workplace where diversity is a way of life – these are the two greatest takeaways for Assurance Associate Theyvarrthnah Kanagarethinam in her days so far at PwC Singapore.
Before venturing into the working world, Theyvarrthnah was certain that she wanted to launch her corporate career in a nurturing environment where professional growth is well-supported and meaningful connections can be forged. Following the recommendation of her family friends who shared positive experiences working here, Theyvarrthnah turned to PwC Singapore. Reflecting on her time at the firm, the NTU graduate is in no doubt that she had found the right place.
"I was showered with so much kindness and connected well with my team across seniority levels. This really made me feel welcomed as a new member."
"Upon joining, I quickly recognised the inclusive and friendly culture at PwC," says Theyvarrthnah. She recalls going on a work trip with her team in her second month here. Although initially apprehensive about traveling abroad with coworkers she barely knew, the trip turned into an ideal onboarding experience. "I was showered with so much kindness and connected well with my team across seniority levels. This really made me feel welcomed as a new member," she recounts. The connections built translated well into strong synergy at work after they returned.
This culture of inclusion extends beyond welcoming new joiners to ensuring team members from diverse backgrounds feel empowered. Theyvarrthnah mentioned that on many occasions, her teams were made up of members with different skill sets and perspectives, and this enhanced collaboration and creativity within the team as each member was able to bring unique ideas, thus able to come up with innovative solutions. She highlighted that it was the culture of diversity and inclusion at PwC that fostered an environment for open dialogue and growth, allowing both herself and her team to learn from one another and grow both as individuals and as a team.
Despite facing a steep learning curve and challenging project tasks, Theyvarrthnah highlighted that the coaching culture here granted her the essential support she needed and empowered her to take on more tasks confidently. While there were also trying moments and difficult interactions, these have helped her grow into a more competent and confident professional. In true Gen-Z fashion, she enjoys documenting her day-to-day moments on social media, keeping a virtual diary that allows her to recap her journey and look back at how far she has come.
"Be ready to face a steep learning curve, but also trust the process and be open-minded to absorb all that you can. Mistakes will be made, but they serve as learning experiences from which you will surely grow!"
When asked for her advice to students preparing to enter the workforce, Theyvarrthnah says, "Be ready to face a steep learning curve, but also trust the process and be open-minded to absorb all that you can. Mistakes will be made, but they serve as learning experiences from which you will surely grow!"
