Recognition Day 2024
Our Recognition Day award ceremony celebrated the outstanding individuals in our midst who made an impact and delivered success in what they do.

Starting an internship is often both rewarding and challenging, as Andrew, a recent SMU accounting graduate, discovered during his time at PwC. His journey began in the audit services department, where he quickly recognised the value of investing time and effort to overcome the initial learning curve. This early dedication not only set him up for success but also allowed him to gain a strong foothold in his career right from the start.
What stood out to Andrew about PwC was the inclusive and supportive workplace culture that welcomed him from day one. This environment inspired him to return for his second internship, further solidifying his skills and confidence. By the time he completed his studies, choosing PwC as his first employer felt like a natural progression.
Andrew found that the collaborative spirit among his peers made the transition smoother. He built strong connections with his batch mates, who not only shared the workload but also became close friends. This sense of community extended beyond the office, where he participated in volunteering activities like Care in Action, strengthening his ties with colleagues while making a meaningful impact on the community.
In his daily work, Andrew appreciated the trust and autonomy given to him. The pre-assigned tasks allowed him to manage his own time effectively, which he found crucial in his professional growth. “I work best when I can manage my own time, and here, I’m encouraged to ask questions without fear,” he says. He valued the open communication with his managers, who he saw as mentors guiding him through the early stages of his career.
Outside of work, Andrew made time for personal well-being, finding balance in activities like hitting the gym or going for a jog. He looks forward to team-building events, such as an upcoming trip to Thailand, which further reinforced the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life style.
Andrew’s advice to graduating students is simple:
"Putting in the hours and hard work is how you get good at what you do! But the most important thing is to approach your work with an open mind and give it your best. It's incredibly rewarding to overcome challenging tasks and acquire new skills, and more than anything, it's the people you work with who make your work life meaningful and fulfilling."

Inclusive seniors and leaders who welcomed new-joiners with warmth and a workplace where diversity is a way of life. These are the two greatest takeaways for Assurance Associate Theyvarrthnah Kanagarethinam in her days so far at PwC Singapore.
Since her university days, Rubab demonstrated a knack for navigating numbers and complex financial documents. This led her to join PwC’s Non-Accountancy Graduate Programme to embark on a career in auditing and she has not looked back since.
