Based in Tokyo since 2006, Steve is a partner in the Deals business of PwC Japan Advisory, with a particular focus on matters related to value (whether as part of an M&A transaction or in connection with the ongoing management of a business). He has a broad range of transaction advisory experience focussed on helping clients to assess deal value, model key value drivers, understand the intangible assets being acquired and develop a sound negotiating strategy. He has advised companies involved in acquisitions, divestitures and restructurings across a range of industry sectors.

Prior to transferring to Japan, Steve provided transaction and debt restructuring advice, including target identification, modelling, valuation, negotiation, financial and market due diligence, on over 100 debt and equity transactions in Thailand with values ranging from less than US$5 million to over US$1 billion.

In Japan, Steve has extensive experience providing deal advice to international companies investing into Japan and Japanese companies investing overseas. By utilizing the network of PwC professionals in Japan and overseas, he delivers industry, technical and project management expertise to clients navigating a challenging deal process.

Steve has recently focussed on the development of PwC’s value consulting and modelling business in Japan. Through the application of advanced modelling and corporate finance techniques, this team helps clients understand the value impact of important decisions, whether in relation to an M&A transaction, a significant capital project or the management of a portfolio of diverse businesses.

Steve joined Price Waterhouse in London in 1989. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. He became a partner in 2002.
