Congratulations to Kara Culmer-Wilson!

PricewaterhouseCoopers Bahamas is pleased to announce the promotion of Kara Culmer- Wilson to Director, effective January 1, 2022.

Kara began her career at PwC Bahamas in January 2008 as an Intern in our Assurance and Business Advisory line of services here in The Bahamas, while attending Dalhousie University.

She later joined the firm on a full time basis as an Audit Associate; having attained her Bachelor's of Commerce Co-op degree with a major in Accounting from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada in August 2010.

Kara went on to complete the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Exam on her first attempt during the summer of 2011. In August 2013, she went on an international secondment to PwC London as a Senior Associate where she specialised in Audit and Advisory services of publicly listed global Retail & Commercial banks, Building Societies and Investment Management clients. Given her high performance, she was promoted to Manager in the UK office in 2015.

Following her international secondment from PwC London, Kara rejoined the Firm in the capacity of an Experienced Manager in May 2016. She continued to excel in her profession which enabled her to be promoted to Senior Manager in July 2018. Her focus is on audits within the Financial Services industry including listed Retail & Commercial banks, Insurance companies and Private Banking clients. She has assisted clients in their implementation of new accounting standards and is an accredited financial statement reviewer for the Caribbean region.  

She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - licensed in Colorado and a Chartered Accountant (CA) licensed under the Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA). She serves as co-chair of the Student Membership & Education Committee of BICA.
