Nassau, Bahamas
6 September 2019
The partners and staff of PwC Bahamas are so grateful for your thoughts and prayers and offers of assistance during this most difficult time in our nation.
Hurricane Dorian, a catastrophic category 5 hurricane, has since left The Bahamas but its impact, particularly on the islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama, will not soon be forgotten. Both islands, which are located in the northernmost part of our archipelago, were directly struck by Dorian and sustained significant loss of lives and widespread devastation to property and infrastructure. New Providence, the home of our capital city Nassau, and the main economic hub of our country, was largely unaffected by the storm.
We are truly thankful to advise that all PwC staff have been accounted for and are safe but we acknowledge and are deeply saddened that there were others who were not so fortunate. Our thoughts and prayers are with those families who have suffered loss of loved ones.
The Bahamas is now in recovery mode. Our partners and staff are fully engaged in the recovery efforts as we seek as a nation to address the immediate needs of those most impacted and return the country to some level of normalcy. We are committed to assisting such recovery and relief efforts and encourage you to do the same.
We wish to advise that our Nassau office has reopened and we have resumed our normal daily operations. Our Freeport office on the island of Grand Bahama will remain closed until further notice.
