Treasury and Operations Manager

Our client is a newly established, life and annuity reinsurer, backed by one of the world's leading asset managers.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Treasury and Operations Manager supports senior management in all aspects of the Company’s treasury, collateral management and office functions.   

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate cash movements between investment portfolios, into and out of custody and trust accounts and across group legal entities as directed by senior management or external service providers
  • Support the selection and implementation of a Treasury management system and development of Treasury policies
  • Monitor the Company’s liquidity position including cash positioning and forecasting for multiple legal entities, accounts and currencies over various time horizons.
  • Support all aspects of global Treasury operations including payments, collections, liquidity management, cash investing and cash accounting.
  • Establishing and administer all operating, trust, and custody accounts, ensuring services are appropriate and well controlled. Coordinate custody/trust documentation, KYC, tax, and AML requests with the appropriate financial institution and work with business partners’ representatives. 
  • Provide accounts payable processing and monitoring
  • Perform all bank account/cash reconciliations
  • Work with external service providers to solve trade fails
  • Maintain and administer all user accounts for on-line banking systems
  • Implement and maintain an effective control structure over all treasury operations
  • Provide LOC and capital management support
  • Lead ad hoc projects to continually improve the Treasury operations processes and systems
  • Assist with ad hoc queries from management, auditors, regulators and tax authorities

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent (re)insurance industry treasury or cash management operations experience; experience in the life (re)insurance industry and international treasury advantageous
  • Experience working with banking portals and custody investment reporting systems
  • Experience in accounting advantageous
  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to work in time restricted and rapidly fluctuating environments
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products and treasury software
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours as required
