The annual Manx State of the Nation (MSoN) conference 2021, organised by the Alliance of Isle of Man Compliance Professionals (AICP), will this year be hosted virtually on March 26, with the continued support of headline sponsor PwC Isle of Man.
The conference is a key date in the diary for governance, risk and compliance executives and this year's virtual conference will comprise presentations and panel discussions featuring regulators, executives and risk and compliance commentators.
Graeme Snape, AICP Chairman, said: ‘We are delighted to have been able to quickly adapt to the current environment and be in a position to offer the annual MSoN conference in a virtual format with the support of our suppliers, sponsors and speakers. This will be the first virtual conference in our 16th year of hosting the conference. The agenda for 2021 offers a day of insightful subjects helping delegates with changing regulations and the potential conflict arising between and across regulations. We have endeavoured to bring subject matter that is relevant to both the ‘normal’ and the ‘new normal’.
‘Our knowledgeable all local speaker line-up will deliver their current thoughts and insights in their respective field in various sessions throughout the day that will continue to shape our business and economic future.’
Kath Quayle, Senior Manager at PwC Isle of Man added: ‘The Isle of Man maintains a commitment to review regulation against international standards and recent local enforcement action makes the cost of non-compliance even more tangible. In support of the conference we work together with the AICP to promote and strengthen the standards of compliance on the Isle of Man.
‘Here at PwC we are excited to be sponsoring MSoN 2021 in this year's new format and I look forward to hearing the views of several leading risk and compliance professionals. I will be contributing myself, presenting on the subject of ‘The need for substance and form’, where I will delve into recurring themes and hot topics at the forefront of the regulatory advisory agenda.’
Other topics on the agenda include a topical panel session on ‘Managing Risk and Compliance during a pandemic’ and an update from the Financial Intelligence Unit. For the full agenda and online registration please visit: https://www.aicp.im/product/manx-state-of-the-nation-2021.
Registration closes on March 23.
