What work will I do? We have opportunities to...

Work in Audit

In audit, we delve into the core of business, equipping decision-makers with reliable information and instilling confidence in investors. In today's dynamic landscape, audit presents a varied career path, engaging with diverse businesses and industries. This role is your gateway to developing comprehensive business skills.

As a Trainee Auditor, you'll dive into hands-on work from day one. This investigative role involves direct discussions with financial controllers and finance directors, requiring tenacity and resilience. Building relationships and engaging with clients is a key part of the role. You'll regularly engage with key figures, ensuring data accuracy and addressing any discrepancies. Finance is central to every organisation, offering you continuous learning about different business operations. You'll examine records and contribute to reports on the controls and systems observed across various industries and audit areas, including customer interactions, supplier dealings, and bank statement reconciliations. If you possess intellectual agility, drive, and resilience, you'll thrive in our environment.

As you gain experience, you'll assume greater responsibility—planning and executing your audits and mentoring junior colleagues.

You'll pursue a professional accountancy qualification, with the Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualification delivered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) over three years. You can learn more about the syllabus and structure on the ICAEW website. You'll receive ample support from your team, career coach, and network to achieve this.

We're eager to connect with the most talented, well-rounded students. We're looking for those with exceptional academic achievements, including at least a Grade 4 in Maths and English at GCSE, and either a minimum of 112 UCAS points (excluding General Studies) or 32 International Baccalaureate points. If you're on track to secure a 2:1 in any degree discipline, we want to hear from you.

Work in Actuarial

At the heart of our actuarial practice, we embrace uncertainty. As a Trainee Actuary, you'll dive into analysing how future events might impact businesses. We're proud to be the largest actuarial practice on the Isle of Man, offering insights and solutions to industries facing major risks—from traditional insurance to banking and pensions. Our expertise in risk analysis and predictive insights helps us assess the effects of demographic shifts or legislative changes on pension schemes, and how financial market fluctuations influence various organisations.

You'll master complex financial and statistical theories to evaluate risks and predict outcomes. Equally important, you'll hone your ability to present findings in clear, straightforward language.

You'll collaborate with a diverse array of businesses, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to deliver insights, all while pursuing a professional qualification with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. You can learn more about the syllabus and structure on the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries website. Your team will be your backbone, supporting you every step of the way.

We're eager to connect with talented students who excel academically. If you've achieved at least a Grade 6 in Maths and English at GCSE, are on track for a minimum of 112 UCAS points (excluding General Studies), or have at least 32 International Baccalaureate points. We want to hear from you if you're on track to achieve a 2:1 in a maths-related degree.

Work in Tax

From day one, you'll engage with a diverse range of individuals to grasp their business dynamics and explore how tax regulations impact them. Whether you're advising entrepreneurs or individual employees on intricate personal tax matters and international assignments or working with large multinationals on corporate tax compliance and strategic business decisions, your role is pivotal.

We're here to help you harness your expertise, expand your network, and appreciate the full spectrum of tax services we offer. You'll cultivate essential professional and adaptable skills from the outset, laying the groundwork for a career as a dynamic and client-centric tax professional.

Your initial training will provide a comprehensive foundation in Isle of Man, UK, and international tax, with sponsored study towards a prestigious professional qualification. Typically, this begins with the Association of Tax Technicians, progressing to Chartered Tax Advisor status. You can find out more about the syllabus and structure of the qualification on the ATT website. Your team, having completed similar qualifications, will be there to support you throughout your journey.

We're seeking the brightest and most versatile students. If you have exceptional academic achievements, with at least a Grade 6 in Maths and English at GCSE, and are on track for a minimum of 112 UCAS points (excluding General Studies) or 32 International Baccalaureate points, we want to hear from you. We want to hear from you if you're on track to secure a 2:1 in any degree discipline.

What skills are essential for success?

Beyond talent and academic achievements, we seek individuals who embody:

  • Adaptability: Embrace shifting priorities and workloads with a positive outlook.

  • Analytical and investigative: You enjoy working with numbers and are curious to learn the financial management behind every type of organisation.
