£8,000 raised at The Children’s Centre Rounders Tournament 2020

A total of 400 people helped raise £8,000 for The Children’s Centre at its annual rounders tournament, sponsored by PwC Isle of Man.

Organised by The Children’s Centre the event attracted thirty corporates making up thirty-six teams and 360 players at Vagabonds Rugby Club to battle it out for the title of 2020 champions.

The New Fielders, from Newfield Ltd took the title after a closely fought final with the IQEQ team, and one of the four teams from Contractor Service Group took third place.

Joff Whitten, Head of The Children’s Centre, said: ‘It is testament to the efforts of the Island over recent months that we have been able to go ahead with the event for 2020. The event is always well supported, and this year was no different. I would like to thank all the teams, volunteers and suppliers who were part of making it an enjoyable event.’

PwC’s sponsorship covers the organisational costs, meaning all the proceeds from the tournament go directly to charitable projects which help families and children.

They include adventure-based activities at venues across the Island, including coasteering and climbing, educational and nurturing programmes and rural experiences at the charity’s 15-acre Children’s Centre Farm.
