PwC Academy in Ukraine Updated on the Workforce of the Future Development Scenarios

The open presentation meeting “Workforce of the Future 2030” was held on 21 February 2018 in Radisson Blu Hotel. The event was organised by PwC Academy in Ukraine in association with the Commercial Department of the UK Embassy in Ukraine.

Over 100 participants including CEOs and HR, HC, L&D, Finance and IT professionals participated in the event.

Richard Pollard, PwC Ukraine Managing Partner, and Mark Frisby, Defence Attaché of the UK Embassy in Ukraine, welcomed the participants. They emphasised the vital importance of professional training in the today’s world and held the official ceremony of awarding diplomas to the CHRM (CIPD) certified graduates.

Aleksandra Alkhimovich, CEO at Luxoft Ukraine, delivered her speech highlighting the relevance of professional training and development. Alexandra has successfully completed the professional development programme with PwC Academy in Ukraine.

Irina Blinova, PwC Academy Leader in Ukraine, and Stanislav Sheliakin, Senior Consultant in PwC Ukraine Management Consulting, presented the four development scenarios for the workforce of the future supported by results of the PwC survey of 10,000 respondents in China, India, Germany, the UK and the USA. PwC has been conducting this survey in cooperation with the James Martin Institute for Science and Civilisation at the Said Business School in Oxford since 2007.

The report outlines, among other things, the key forces shaping the nearest future of the labour market. In addition to disruptive technologies, these include demographic shifts, rapid urbanisation, resource scarcity and climate change shifting global economic powers between the developed and developing countries. These forces will drive the four development scenarios for the workforce of the future, where innovation, human being, corporate and social good are the top priorities. Each scenario will dictate different HC strategies and recruitment processes that need to be considered.

Andriy Stancheko, NRG CEO, expanded on the companies that already accommodate HR strategy developments. Andiry demonstrated the model and operational principles of three types of organisations: “headless” organisations, evolution-driven organisations and organisations with network organisation structures. In addition, he focused on case studies of Google, Amazon, Zappos, Whole Foods, In Vitae, Morning Star and Patagonia.
