For Ryan, a 40-year old construction worker in Iloilo, who also sells a local delicacy called sundot-kulangot, every day is “bring-your-kid-to-work day”. He is seen with his seven year-old kid in tow while he works.
“Wala kasing magbabantay.”
Ryan is a single father. The wife abandoned them, leaving their children to his care. Though he seems to face a lot of hardships, he still manages to smile while telling a story about his kids.
As he “babysits” his own child, he is doing more than just being the primary carer; he is teaching his child the value of hard work — a lesson that his son will carry with him into adulthood.
