WMS joins Brigada Eskwela for the second year

On 8 May, the Worldtrade Management Services (WMS) team headed to Patar in Bolinao, Pangasinan for their Tourism with a Purpose (TwP) activity. It was their second time to support the Department of Education's Brigada Eskwela program.

The team, composed of 21 members together with WMS Director Dennis Forhart and Senior Manager Alex Saborio, decided to help out Ilog Malino Elementary School in Bolinao, Pangasinan. The school has a population of around 450 students.

Prior to the activity, the team reached out to school officer in charge Evelyn Valisalisa and their Principal Eugene Mamaril, who, together with the rest of the staff, welcomed the team.
The activity started at nine o'clock in the morning. The WMS team brought 500 books, acquired through the Rotary Club of San Antonio. Laboratory glassware and three new microscopes were also donated to the school. Shortly after, the team divided themselves into two groups and started working on repairing some of the school facilities. These included the repainting of three stone benches and the school gate which lasted until five in the afternoon.
The teams endured the heat of the summer sun and worked together to make their designated areas look as good as new. In gratitude, the hospitable staff of the school prepared refreshments and lunch for the team.

Needless to say, the activity was a fruitful one. The members of the team had a great bonding time while doing Brigada Eskwela. Everyone lent a helping hand with repainting, scraping and cleaning the school facilities. It made the work lighter, faster and all the more enjoyable.
