Isla Lipana & Co./PwC Philippines celebrated the 50th anniversary of its Cebu office by reaffirming its support to Central Visayas, rolling out initiatives designed to uplift local stakeholders and help accelerate the region’s recovery from last year’s calamities.

In collaboration with the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), the firm served as Knowledge Partner for the third edition of the Cebu CEO Survey, a thought leadership material that highlights key growth enablers and barriers for businesses in the region. The survey was launched alongside CCCI’s general membership meeting on 27 February 2026.

“Cebu is shaping to be an economic powerhouse, harnessing innovation and technology for growth. To keep this momentum strong, we must align private sector expertise with stronger, more transparent public institutions. Elevating the region to a higher standard of progress requires bold and meaningful reforms—ones that rebuild public trust, champion integrity, and foster inclusivity,” said PwC Philippines Vice Chairman and Assurance Managing Partner Aldie Garcia.

During the anniversary celebration at NUSTAR Resort on 6 March 2026, PwC Philippines also manifested its commitment to educational support through the construction of a school building at Don Pedro Rodriguez Elementary School, located in earthquake-hit Bogo City in northern Cebu.

"The remarkable courage and resilience of Cebuanos should not go amiss. This school building is our firm’s humble contribution to help them accelerate their recovery and continue their education in safer, improved conditions,” PwC Philippines Chairman and Senior Partner Roderick Danao shared.

The firm also provided scholarships to students whose families were among those affected by the earthquake, empowering them to continue their education and rebuild their future despite the profound disruptions caused by the disaster.

“At PwC, we believe that education has the power to transform lives and create lasting, positive change across our communities,” Danao added.

PwC Philippines also manifested its commitment to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region VII for the donation of relief housing units (RHUs) to the local government units of San Remigio, Medellin, and Daanbantayan. These RHUs aim to provide safe shelter and dignity to families displaced by disasters or emergencies.

Garcia said that these initiatives demonstrate PwC’s “community first” commitment.

“Even as we pursue growth, we keep our feet on the ground and continue to extend a hand to our communities. Success is measured not only by numbers, but by the positive impact we make on society,” Garcia expressed.

Assurance Partner Rose Dale Ando, who also serves as the firm’s VisMin Business leader, conveyed her gratitude to the partnership and clients for their steadfast support, noting that this drives the regional team to continue delivering quality service and contribute to growth across Central Visayas.

“Reaching this milestone would not have been possible without the unwavering dedication of our partners past and present, our clients who continue to place their trust in us, and of course, our people who show up every day, committed to doing the work that matters. Their support strengthens our resolve to continue growing our practice in Cebu and to keep serving our communities with purpose,” Ando said.
