JBD Executive Director Toshiya Hayashida opened the seminar by providing updates on recent key tax reforms, including the CREATE MORE Act and the Value Added Tax (VAT) on Digital Services Law. He also discussed the latest developments in the Electronic Invoicing System (EIS), which is particularly relevant to large taxpayers under the Ease of Paying Taxes (EOPT) Law.
BAS Director Mike Jensen Cua then gave an overview of the firm’s BAS services, such as internal audit, governance, risk and control. His presentation also highlighted PwC’s PLAT 2 whistleblowing platform, emphasizing its role in strengthening corporate governance and helping Japanese companies avoid environments conducive to fraud.
The last session was led by JBD Principal Kentaro Tojo, who offered insights into the recently released draft revenue regulations on Advance Pricing Arrangements (APA)—a topic of strong interest among Japanese multinational corporations. The seminar concluded with a relaxed networking session, where participants exchanged insights and built new connections within the Japanese business community in Manila.
We would like to thank BAS Director Red Tamayor, JBD Assistant Manager Yosuke Akahane and JBD Executive Assistant Nelly Rose Abdon for their help in making the seminar a success.
