8 July 2021, Makati City ー Roderick Danao, Chairman and Senior Partner of Isla Lipana & Co., the Philippine member firm of the global PwC network, is pleased to announce the admission of three new partners—all certified public accountants (CPAs)—with effect from 1 July 2021.

A CPA and a lawyer, Mary Jean Balboa specializes in transfer pricing and international tax. Her more than 13 years of experience with multinational companies across various sectors also involve corporate restructuring, tax assessment and tax advisory on the application and interpretation of domestic laws, particularly on value-added tax and e-invoicing. She earned her Juris Doctor at the Ateneo Law School, and Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy with Honorable Mention from De La Salle University, Manila.
Jocelyn de Chavez will chiefly handle the firm’s Consumer Markets and Industrial Manufacturing clients, building upon over 16 years of experience in auditing leading companies in the said sectors. Her technical expertise on Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) has been honed by her six-year stint with Accounting Consulting Services (ACS), including her short-term assignment with PwC Hong Kong’s ACS team. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from St. Paul’s University - Quezon City.
Dennis Malco co-leads the ACS practice, taking with him his broad experience in auditing clients in diverse sectors. He spent six months on assignment with PwC US’ Philadelphia office in 2012 for an audit of a US SEC listed company. His accredited membership in PwC’s Global Accounting Consulting Services (GACS) and two-year assignment in 2014 as part of PwC Singapore’s ACS team attest to his technical expertise. Dennis graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
