ConTP’s summer surprise in Bohol

The Tax Consulting-Transfer Pricing team (ConTP) explored majestic Bohol last 17 to 19 April for their annual summer getaway. As ConTP found a piece of paradise, its team members had the chance to experience Bohol's charms-- the world-renowned Chocolate Hills, glistening white sand beaches, magical man-made mahogany forest, the serene Loboc River and elegant churches. Part of the trip was an overnight stay in Panglao Island-- one of PwC’s Top 10 Philippine Gems. The group immediately fell in love with its special beauty.

As an added bonus, the team got the chance to interact with the warm and lovely Boholanos throughout their trip. For their Tourism with a Purpose (TwP) activity, the team reached out to the children playing in the park of Panglao Church. It was an ordinary Monday afternoon, the ConTP team members gave their gifts to the kids whose hearts swelled in excitement.

The team's TwP did not end by just giving out school supplies to the kids, they also chat and played with them and had fun posing for pictures.  While they met a lot of remarkable kids, a young boy named Owen caught their attention. Unlike other kids, Owen also sought out other kids to share with them what he received. Owen and his friends then told the team about their school, their friends and classmates, and how often they would play in the park.  As they drove away in the dimming light of the setting sun, the team could still see the beaming faces of the children waving their good-byes while clutching their bags of school stuff.

Their Bohol getaway offered the ConTP members not just picturesque sceneries of Bohol but priceless moments to treasure:  the pleasure of experiencing together the pristine beaches and lush greeneries, the laughter shared, and the hospitality of the Boholanos will have a distinctive warmth that will be long-remembered.
