Corrections to 2020 expat quota

In detail:

The method of quota allocation has changed (Minister of Labor and Population Social Protection’s Order (№.300 of August 12, 2020)):

previously it was allocated by work permit categories (I, II, III) and by types of economic activity;
now it is by categories only . For the categories*, please see

Given the significant reduction in the 2020 Quota, these are the positive changes, which will help to improve the situation in each region and in the country overall. Companies who were not able to apply for work permits because quota for their type of economic activity was limited, can apply for a category within their region.

Thus, the (revised) 2020 quota is:

For work permits issued by local labour authorities to the employer: 0,32% of Kazakhstan`s labor workforce;
For labour immigrants: 3,9% of Kazakhstan’s labour force.

IV category - Qualified workers
