In details:
Due to cancellation of flights during the lockdown, foreigners were not able to leave the country. As per a Government Interdepartmental Commission, foreigners who arrived under business / tourist visas should legalize their stay in Kazakhstan before 5 August 2020.
To do so, the foreigner or host party should apply for:
- extension of the temporary visa for a maximum of 30 days, in case no flights are available;
or
- an exit visa which is valid for up to 14 days, in case a flight is already booked within these 14 days.
Administrative responsibility and fines will not be applied during that period.
