From 4 May Kazakhstan significantly softens quarantine

Certain businesses resume activities.

In details

The following businesses will resume activities from 4 May:

  • non food stores with an area up to 500 m² till 17:00 (all types);
  • photo salons, flower shops;
  • hairdressing salons (by appointment);
  • medical centers (by appointment);
  • dental clinics (by appointment);
  • real estate companies, advertising agencies, advocates, notaries;
  • microfinance organizations, insurance companies, pawnshops, exchange offices;
  • information and communications technology companies.

From 4 May sport and outdoor training are allowed. In Almaty it is allowed to move freely on foot and in a personal car or ride a bicycle.

From 27 April the following types of business activities resumed across Kazakhstan, except for Shymkent which was from 1 May:

  • industrial enterprises;
  • construction including road construction companies, large construction materials stores;
  • transport, warehousing, agricultural services, vehicle maintenance;
  • banks and financial sector organizations.

From 27 April in Nur Sultan, organisations in the following sectors resumed activity:

  • retail stores that sell household appliances and certain seasonal (summer) products.

From 27 April in Almaty, organisations in the following sectors resumed activity:

  • information and communication technologies.

Specific procedures for resuming business activity apply. In addition, chief state sanitary doctor approved regulations on preventive measures to be taken by each of the business type. Wider measures could be approved by the employer’s order, who is responsible for compliance.

From 1 May flights between Nur Sultan and Almaty resumed.

From 4 May in addition, flights from Nur Sultan and Almaty to Kyzylorda, Petropavlovsk, Ust Kamenogorsk and Semey resume. Flights are carried out under sanitary control, with fewer passengers and distanced seating.
