Kazakhstan has ratified the agreement with Armenia on simplification of residency confirmation procedures

On 30 March 2020, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-ZhomartTokayev signed the Law on ratification of the agreement between Kazakhstan and Armenia on requirements for tax residency certificates recognition for double tax treaty purposes.

This agreement will establish a simplified procedure for recognition of the official documents confirming the residency in each country. It means that there will be no need to apostille or legalisethe documents, provided that they have the official seal of the relevant state.

This simplified procedure will be applied retrospectively from 1 January 2012. The agreement will enter into force on the date when the last written notification by each state has been received through diplomatic channels.
