Retail price limits for socially important food products have been introduced

On 3 April 2020, the Ministers of trade and integration, agriculture, and Minister of national economy jointly approved retail price limits for socially important food products for the period of the state of emergency.

 

In details 

Retail price limits for socially important food products were introduced for the period of the state of emergency by the joint orders of the Minister of trade and integration (No 63 NK), the Minister of agriculture (No 113 and the Minister of national economy (No 23 dated 3 April 2020 The order is effective from 9 April 2020

The list includes 9 goods, prices for which have increased significantly in 2020:

  1. wheat flour (1st grade);
  2. wheat bread from 1st grade flour;
  3. certain types of macaroni;
  4. buckwheat (unground);
  5. ground rice (short grain);
  6. beef (certain cuts);
  7. eggs (category I);
  8. sunflower oil;
  9. food grade salt (most types).

Prices for each product differ depending on the city or region

A fine of 100 (KZT 277 800) to 200 MCI (KZT 555 600) per offence is imposed for exceeding the retail price limit
