The Government approved the list of 50 largest category I objects by total pollution emissions

Kazakhstan Government approved the Decree No. 187 dated 1 April 2022 w ith a list of fifty largest category I objects by total pollution emissions (the “Decree").

In details

The List includes the follow ing categories of payers of fees for negative environmental impact:

  • 19 objects for the production of heat and electricity; 
  • 4 objects for the production of iron, steel and ferroalloys; 
  • 8 crude oil and natural gas production objects; 
  • 2 aluminum production objects;
  • 2 copper production objects; 
  • 3 objects for the production of refined products;
  • 1 lead, zinc and tin production object;
  • 2 iron ore mining objects; 
  • 1 object for the production of chemical products; 
  • 7 cement, lime and plaster production objects; 
  • 1 calcium carbide production object. 

The abovementioned objects should make payments for the negative impact on the environment at the specifically established rates indicated in the Tax Code.

The regulation comes into force on 1 January 2025.
