Kazakhstan has resumed visa free regime with 54 countries

In detail: 

Decree of the Governmental Resolution #286 on the suspension of the unilateral visa-free regime for citizens of 54 countries expired on 31 December 2021. This restriction did not apply to countries with which Kazakhstan has ratified bilateral agreements on visa-free entry. 

In view of the above, from 1 January 2022, Kazakhstan resumed the visa-free regime for citizens of 54 countries, according to clause 17 of the Rules on entry and stay in Kazakhstan. 

Please note that foreign nationals still need special permission from the IDC (MVK) to enter the country*. 

*Exception: nationals of countries with which Kazakhstan has resumed direct flights with: 

UK
Hungary
Vietnam
Germany

Italy
Qatar
Kuwait
Netherlands

Poland
Saudi Arabia
Thailand
Czech Republic

This exception does not apply to foreign citizens crossing the Kazakhstan border by land transport. In this case, the permission of the IDC (MVK) will be required.
