On 20 December 2021 the President signed certain laws amending the judicial system and civil procedure legislation.

In detail 

The President signed the following laws: 

• The Constitutional Law of Kazakhstan On Amendments and Additions to the Constitutional Law of Kazakhstan On the Judicial System and the Status of Judges of Kazakhstan. The Constitutional Law is aimed at improving professionalism of the judiciary and increasing responsibility and independence of judges, including changes in procedure for selecting judicial personnel and increasing statute of limitations for holding judges accountable;
• The Law of Kazakhstan On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of Kazakhstan on issues of the judicial system. The Law is aimed at bringing the norms of the current laws of Kazakhstan in line with provisions of the Constitutional Law by amending the Budget Code of Kazakhstan and the Administrative Procedural Code of Kazakhstan, as well as the Law of Kazakhstan On the Supreme Judicial Council of Kazakhstan.
• The Law of Kazakhstan On Amendments and Additions to Some Legislative Acts of Kazakhstan on improvement of civil procedural legislation and development of institutions of non-judicial and pre-trial dispute settlement. The Law is aimed at developing non-judicial dispute settlement procedure, including expanding the scope of conciliation procedures, minimizing court costs of citizens and increasing citizens' interest in non-judicial dispute settlement. This law provides for amendments to the Code of Kazakhstan "On Marriage (Matrimony) and Family", the Civil Procedure Code of Kazakhstan, the Laws of Kazakhstan "On Mediation“, "On Local Public Administration and Self-Government in Kazakhstan" and "On Notary".

All of the above laws, with the exception of certain amendments, would come into force upon the expiration of 10 calendar days from the date of their first official publication.
