Experts survey results Q2 2021

PwC Kazakhstan presents the fifth issue of the Quarterly Macroeconomic Report. The study is based on expert estimates and forecasts of macroeconomic indicators of the Kazakhstan economy.

Key findings of the study:

  • 69% of participants predict a U-shape scenario for Kazakhstan's economic recovery
  • Below USD 66.5 is the projected value of a barrel of BRENT crude oil during the year, according to 75% of participants
  • On average, respondents expect the dollar exchange rate to be no higher than 430 tenge during the year
  • The base rate of the National Bank of Kazakhstan will not fall below 8.5%, according to 61% of respondents
  • More than 61% of respondents expect inflation of no higher or equal to 7% over a one-year horizon
