Over 1,500 participants, including representatives from PwC Philippines, gathered early on Saturday, 7 June, for the Coastal Cleanup event at SM by the BAY Central Park, located at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City. This event, organized by SM and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), was held in celebration of World Oceans Day.

Volunteers from PwC Philippines came from various entities and lines of service. The team comprised three from Assurance, seven from Tax, one from Client Accounting Services (CAS), one from Risk Assurance Services, one from Learning & Development, four from Markets, three from PricewaterhouseCoopers Business Services Philippines, and nine from PwC Consulting Philippines.

Another team from PwC Philippines took on the crucial task of cataloging the collected waste. Altogether, the volunteers accumulated more than 1,300 sacks of trash, which included items like plastic bottles, food wrappers and various other forms of debris.

This event marked the fourth consecutive year that PwC Philippines has supported SM’s ongoing Coastal Cleanup initiatives. It highlights the firm’s dedication to environmental, social and governance (ESG) efforts, and our commitment to creating a more sustainable future.
