Under the theme “The Evolving Landscape of Philippine Taxation: Reform Challenges and the Road Ahead,” the forum brought together tax professionals from across the country for a day of insightful panel discussions and invaluable networking opportunities.
Roberto Bassig, Chief Digital Officer and Technology Consulting Partner at Isla Lipana & Co., led an informative session on AI essentials for finance and tax transformation. Through live demonstrations of various tax solutions, Robby showcased innovative approaches to refining tax processes. He also emphasized the critical balance between embracing technological innovation and maintaining responsible, ethical practices. Following his presentation, Robby engaged the audience in a dynamic Q&A session, providing valuable insights into cybersecurity, responsible AI use, and more.
The event also featured three distinguished keynote speakers: Hon. Ma. Belen Ringpis-Liban, Associate Justice at the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA); Hon. Romeo Lumagui Jr., Commissioner of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR); and Hon. Romeo Federico Quimbo, Chair of the House Committee on Ways and Means and District Representative of Marikina. Roselle Caraig, Tax Partner at Isla Lipana & Co., gave the closing remarks.
Another key highlight of the forum was a panel discussion on recent tax legislation—including the Ease of Paying Taxes (EOPT) Law, the CREATE MORE Act, and the VAT on Digital Services Act—featuring renowned figures from both the public and private sectors.
