Isla Lipana & Co./PwC Philippines is thrilled to have participated in Mining Philippines 2025: International Conference and Exhibition. Hosted by the Chamber of Mines of the Philippines (COMP), this event took place on 22–23 October 2025 at the Grand Hyatt Manila.
In his keynote speech, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. underscored the mining sector's role in providing livelihoods and shaping communities. The President emphasized the need for mining activities to align with the government's environmental goals, advocating for the responsible use of mineral resources.
Sacha Winzenreid, Energy, Utilities, and Resources (EUR) and Energy Transition Leader at PwC Indonesia, led a session on capturing value in a low-carbon economy. He delved into how Philippine mining firms can become reliable suppliers of sustainable materials in an ESG-focused global market. He also shared insights on how industry players can unlock new value through premium pricing, increased investor trust, and broader market access.
After his presentation, Sacha joined other industry thought leaders for an engaging plenary discussion. They explored the shifting expectations of next-generation buyers and investors, and how adopting sustainability practices can help companies access new markets and achieve premium pricing.
