Isla Lipana & Co./PwC Philippines conducted the Digital Transformation and Data Analytics Summit on 19 October 2022 via Google Meet. The webinar organized by the firm’s Digital Transformation and Data Analytics teams gathered industry experts who shared insights about the Connected Digital Enterprise.
Deals and Corporate Finance Managing Partner Mary Jade T. Roxas-Divinagracia delivered the welcome remarks and explained how the pandemic has forced companies to rethink the way they do business, enabling them to take bold steps to accelerate digital transformation.
PwC South East Asia Consulting Data & Analytics Leader Dr. Vivekanand Gopalkrishnan began the session as the keynote speaker. He said, “innovation is bringing something new to the table that creates value. It should be sustainable and defensible.” He then explained that data-driven innovation allows companies to reinvent themselves, grow, become a market leader, and retain their position in the industry.
Afterwards, PwC Philippines Deals and Corporate Finance Director Leilani Ramirez-Layug discussed the characteristics of data-driven organizations. Deals and Corporate Finance Manager Weddy Anne Diamada then identified and explained the five steps to starting a company’s data analytics journey.

Digital Transformation Director Angelo Basuan then spoke on how companies can begin building a Connected Digital Enterprise and explained the critical factors to adopting digital transformation initiatives. He also shared how PwC helps clients achieve a Connected Digital Enterprise through digital solutions and enablers, and a network of alliances.
The summit culminated with a panel discussion composed of thought leaders from the industry, academe and government. The panelists were Department of Information and Communications Technology Undersecretary for E-Government David L. Almirol, Jr., Asian Institute of Management Academic Chair Prof. Erika Fille T. Legara PhD, Tala Fintech VP Global Controller Jose Sarria, and PwC Philippines Consulting Partner Roberto Bassig. They talked about the challenges and opportunities in digital transformation and data analytics, emphasizing the importance of integrity, trust and compliance. They also discussed the status and future of digital in the Philippines and in the Southeast Asian Region.
To close the event, PwC Philippines Risk Assurance Leader Maria Rosell S. Gomez delivered the closing remarks, highlighting the significance of digital transformation and data analytics to a company's future. She also expressed her gratitude towards the speakers and participants for a fruitful session.
Over 130 participants from different industries attended the webinar moderated by Risk Consulting Director Alvin Dave Pusing. Lending their support to the event were Digital Transformation Leader and Tax Partner Carlos Carado II, and the Markets and Learning & Development teams.
